News from Greece: First frost, then heavy rain

We are currently looking anxiously at Greece - more specifically at the blossoming of the apricot and peach trees there.

Night frosts were already causing problems for the buds on the fruit trees in mid/late March. You can read more about this in our current Food News. Yesterday we received further breaking news from our partner: "After the frost of the last few nights, the area around Skydra, Veria and Thessaloniki was hit by torrential rain, meaning that a crop failure of around 80 percent is to be expected in northern Greece."
