Pineapples: Low crop yields

Pineapple season in Thailand is in full swing—but the summer harvest is small.

As a result, raw material prices have already risen to between 8.30 and 9.20 THB per kilogram over the past week. Due to the dry weather, the fruits are also smaller than usual. This means there are fewer fruits suitable for producing pineapple slices. How will harvest volumes, fruit quality, and prices develop in the coming months? And what impact will this have on the market? We’ll be exploring exactly these questions in the next edition of Paul M. Müller’s Food News, which will be published on June 25. Registration is free.
