Number of the day: Tomato situation in Italy

We have received information from southern Italy for the tomato year 2025 that we would like to share with you.

Crops are expected to be reduced by 25 percent due to a lack of water. The water reservoirs are empty and experts are warning of a poor harvest. However, prices have yet to be announced. The situation is different in northern Italy. Farmers and producers there fixed the price at 142.50 euros per tonne of raw produce at the beginning of the week. How will prices develop?
